In NY this was one of my favorite companies to do gas shops, you get paid and reimbursed for gas for you car. In many other states they have  bowling shops where you can take the whole family bowling they pay between $5 and $10 dollars per shop but reimburse you up to $50 for bowling and food. I have compiled dozens of mystery shopping shopping sites that really pay. from shopping apartments to hotels to restaurants . these will not make you rich but they Will make you some extra money and and get you some free stuff for a bit of work. I have NEVER had to pay anything to use these sites so be very careful if you are ever asked at a mystery shopping site to pay for anything.
